having looked at your site in the past, this face seems to be a popular one with you; is there a story behind it? It's certainly one that could go down as instantly recognizable with people. +max, of course

Hey emagery! Oh, this is my main girl character that I draw. She doesn't have a name, although I refer to her as "unnamed girl character" and that's what I everyone knows her as I guess. If you looked at my site, its the blonde girl with the pony tail and the fur jacket that I always draw. It's just in this one her hair's flowing out.

I submitted a black and white rendering her on GFX before as well.

wow,, love the way you colored it,,, iv seen people color pics like that in two ways,, one isthat they make shades and everything in greyscale then color it,, the other is when they color with colors from the binning,,,
how do You do it?...
the only thing i didnt like was her weopon . and maybe you should do something more with the Background to make it perfect,,, but its a great piece indeed.

The lighting on this one is amazing! The pose is excellent and so is the expression. One of the best anime-styled figures I've seen in a while.

But: How come the previous illustration lacked a lot of skill, while this one has it all? Reference issue?

ARTOONATOR/WarrenLouw: I don't exactly know how much time I spent, but I guess it's a little less than my usual stuff. And as often I use references for my art, I didn't for this one. A fluke maybe? o.O

ARTOONATOR: If you're talking about the one I submitted a day ago (26), maybe it's because did that almost a year ago. If you were talking about the other one (32) then I have no words -_-.

simenDELUX: Well you just described how basically everyone colors eh? jk. If you're talking starting with the final colors or a base colors, then for this one I started with the final colors. I have a thing for planning lighting so usually I have an idea where all the values are going to go before I start.

I was going to respond to Artoonator myself, but it looks like you did. I just find the comment funny (more like odd, not haha). I guess your reason is because of a time difference in the drawings, which I can totally relate to personally, but for me, I know I can do anatomy perfectly if I want to, but I choose not to because I like to skew it a bit, or sometimes I just don't feel like putting in time it requires, and people never seem to understand that which is not only rude, but annoying as hell.

Anime art is not my thing, but this is a very beautiful drawing! I agree with simenDELUX about the background and the weapon. Her pose is too relaxed and kind for such a weapon, it doesn't fit in kind of. Her right leg seems much fatter than the left, although she's bending it. GREATwork with light, shadows and details!!

The beauty of this image is heightened by the eyes, the mouth and the face of the girl, and the use of a white jacket type skin of animal, gives him gentleness, which contrasts with the weapon in the hand.

very nice drawing... but the left hip has some problems i think and the right hand would hve made a stonger pose if placed in the front of the right leg...and the blade is barely visible
